Alma Wellness Club (“Alma”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Alma Wellness mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our App.

By using Alma Wellness, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address — used for authentication and account recovery.
  • Password — securely hashed; we never store or have access to your plaintext password.
  • Display name — the name you choose to show in the app.

Profile Information

You may optionally provide:

  • Profile photo — uploaded from your device's photo library or camera.
  • Avatar selection — a preset avatar image of your choice.
  • Age range — a general range you select during onboarding.
  • Wellness focus — your chosen area of wellness interest.

Wellness Data

As you use the App, we store the following data locally on your device:

  • Daily goals and progress — steps, hydration, meditation, and custom goals.
  • Journal entries — text content and mood selections.
  • Streaks and achievements — your progress milestones.
  • Plant growth data — level, points, and stage.

If you are signed in, a subset of this data (profile, level, streak, and membership status) is synced to the cloud to power social features such as the shared garden and friend leaderboards.

Social & Community Data

If you use social features, we collect:

  • Friend connections — your friend list, invite codes, and friend requests.
  • Nudge interactions — records of encouragement actions sent between friends.

Device Information

  • Push notification tokens — stored to deliver reminders and friend notifications. You can opt out of notifications at any time in your device settings.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  1. 1.Provide the App's features — goal tracking, journaling, plant growth, social garden, retreats, and the wellness membership card.
  2. 2.Sync your data — keep your profile and social features up to date across devices.
  3. 3.Send notifications — deliver goal reminders, friend activity, and retreat updates that you have opted into.
  4. 4.Improve the App — understand usage patterns to enhance the experience (no third-party analytics are used).

Data Storage & Security

Local storage: Your wellness data (goals, journal, streaks) is stored on your device using secure local storage.
Cloud storage: Account and social data is stored securely via Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.
Authentication tokens: Stored securely on your device using the operating system's secure keychain (Expo SecureStore).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.

Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your data:

Export your data — download your complete wellness history from Profile > Export Data.
Delete your data — use the “Reset All Data” option in Profile settings to erase all local data.
Delete your account — contact us at info@almawellness.club to request full account deletion, including all cloud-stored data. We will process your request within 30 days.
Manage notifications — enable or disable notifications at any time in the App's settings or your device's notification settings.
Withdraw consent — you may stop using the App and request data deletion at any time.

Children's Privacy

Alma Wellness is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
